- Contractual obligations: means any obligation under covered health care policies. See Florida Statutes 631.814
- HMO: means a health maintenance organization possessing a valid certificate of authority issued by the office pursuant to part I of chapter 641. See Florida Statutes 631.814
The purpose of this part is to protect the subscribers of HMOs, subject to certain limitations, against the failure of the HMO to perform its contractual obligations due to its insolvency. This part shall be liberally interpreted to carry out its purpose.
