- Motor vehicle: means :(a) A self-propelled device operated solely or primarily upon roadways to transport people or property, or the component part of such a self-propelled device, except such term does not include any self-propelled vehicle, or component part of such vehicle, which:1. - person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
The department and office may, within their respective regulatory jurisdictions, examine and investigate the affairs of every person involved in the business of motor vehicle service agreements in this state in order to determine whether such person has been or is engaged in any unfair method of competition or in any unfair or deceptive act or practice prohibited by s. 634.2815, and each shall have the powers and duties specified in ss. 634.284–634.288 in connection therewith.
