Terms Used In Florida Statutes 648.31
- Appointment: means the authority given by an insurer or the managing general agent of an insurer through the department to a licensee to transact insurance or adjust claims on behalf of the insurer or managing general agent. See Florida Statutes 648.25
- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
- Bail bond agency: means :(a) The building where a licensee maintains an office and where all records required by ss. See Florida Statutes 648.25The department shall collect in advance all appointment taxes and fees for the issuance of any appointment to a bail bond agent as provided in s. 624.501. There is no fee for the issuance of any appointment to a bail bond agency.
