- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- person: includes individuals, children, firms, associations, joint adventures, partnerships, estates, trusts, business trusts, syndicates, fiduciaries, corporations, and all other groups or combinations. See Florida Statutes 1.01
A person arrested by an officer of the Capitol Police shall be delivered to the sheriff of the county in which the arrest takes place unless a notice to appear is issued.
