§ 396-a. County medical assistance clinics. The local legislative body of each county may, by local law, establish a county clinic for the care and treatment of persons receiving medical assistance for the needy pursuant to title two of Article 5 of the social services law. All expenditures incurred in connection with the location, construction and operation of such clinic shall be a charge upon the county and provision shall be made for the payment therefor by the local legislative body of such county in the same manner as in the case of other charges against the county.
