§ 27-2503. Prohibition of manufacture, sale, and use of creosote.
Terms Used In N.Y. Environmental Conservation Law 27-2503
- creosote: means a substance obtained from the high temperature treatment of coal and coal tar and that is used primarily as a wood preservative. See N.Y. Environmental Conservation Law 27-2501
1. Except as set forth in subdivision two of this section and section 27-2513 of this title, on and after January first, two thousand eight, creosote or products containing creosote shall not be manufactured, sold, or used in this state.
2. Wood treated with creosote that is in use in this state as of such date may continue to be used in such use.
