§ 2812. Construction. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general, special or local law, or any city charter or administrative code to the contrary, no county, town, village or city shall enact and enforce regulations and standards for hospitals, except for hospitals maintained and operated by the health services administration of the city of New York or the New York city health and hospitals corporation.

  • Construction: means the erection, building, or substantial acquisition, alteration, reconstruction, improvement, extension or modification of a hospital, including its equipment; the inspection and supervision thereof; and the studies, surveys, designs, plans, working drawings, specifications, procedures and other actions necessary thereto.   • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
