  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.

ery guardian has the care and custody of the person of his ward and the management of his estate or the care and custody of the person of his ward or the management of his estate, according to the order of appointment, until legally discharged, or, in case of the guardianship of a minor, until the minor reaches the age of majority or, as to the guardianship of the person, until the ward marries. The guardian of a minor also has charge of the education of the minor. The guardian of the person of a ward may fix the residence of the ward at any place in the territory of Guam, but not elsewhere without the permission of the court.
