Terms Used In 15 Guam Code Ann. § 4105

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Probate: Proving a will
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
a minor, having a father living, has property, the income of which is sufficient for his support, maintenance and education in a manner more expensive than his father can reasonably afford, regard being had to the situation of the father’s family and to all the circumstances of the case, the expenses of the support, maintenance and education of such minor may be defrayed out of the income of his own property, in whole or in part, as judged reasonable, and as directed by the court; and the charges therefor may be allowed accordingly in the settlement of the accounts of his guardian.
