Terms Used In 15 Guam Code Ann. § 4304

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • Probate: Proving a will
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
the expiration of a year from the time of his appointment, and as often thereafter as he may be required by the court, the guardian must present his account to the court for settlement and allowance. When account is rendered by two or more joint guardians, the court, in its discretion, may allow the same upon the oath of any of them.
