Terms Used In 18 Guam Code Ann. § 39112

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Lien: A claim against real or personal property in satisfaction of a debt.
  • Personal property: All property that is not real property.
An officer who levies an attachment or execution upon personal property acquires a special lien, dependent upon possession, upon such property, which authorizes him to hold it until the process is discharged or satisfied, or a judicial sale of the property is had.
