Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-8
- Agricultural activities: includes :
(1) The care and production of livestock, livestock products, poultry, and poultry products; (2) The care and production of apiary, horticultural, and floricultural products; (3) The planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops or trees; and (4) Any other activity that is directly associated with agriculture. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-2 - Agricultural enterprise: means an activity directly and primarily supporting the production and sale of agricultural products in the State. - Aquacultural activities: means the farming or ranching of any plant or animal species in a controlled salt, brackish, or freshwater environment; provided that the farm or ranch is on or directly adjacent to land. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-2
- Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
- Board: means the board of agriculture. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-2
- Department: means the department of agriculture. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-2
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Lessee: means a lessee under a lease issued by or transferred to the department or any tenant, licensee, grantee, permittee, assignee, or other person authorized to conduct an agricultural enterprise by the board or department. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 141D-2
- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
Except as provided by subsection (d), the department shall dispose of public lands by lease.
