Hawaii Revised Statutes 245-36 – Counterfeiting stamps

A person shall be guilty of a class B felony if the person:

(1) Intentionally or knowingly makes, alters, or reuses a stamp as defined in § 245-1; or

Under the Hawaii Revised Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:

Class	Prison	Fine
Class B felony	up to 10 years	up to $25,000

Stamp: means a stamp printed, manufactured, or made by authority of the department, as provided in this chapter, that is issued, sold, or circulated by the department, and by the use of which the tax levied under this chapter is paid. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 245-1

(2) Knowingly possesses or distributes a stamp that has been falsely made, altered, or reused.
