Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 291E-46

  • State: means : any state or possession of the United States; the District of Columbia; the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; the United States Virgin Islands; American Samoa; Guam; any province or territory of the Dominion of Canada; and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, except when the word, in context, clearly refers to the State of Hawaii. The time in which any act provided in this part is to be done is computed by excluding the first day and including the last, unless the last day is a Saturday, Sunday, or state holiday, and then it also is excluded; provided that if the last day for the mailing of decisions under sections 291E-37(a) and 291E-38(i) is a federal holiday, it also is excluded.
