A person alleged to be of unsound mind found in the State, who has fled from another state, in which at the time of the person’s flight:
Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 337-2
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
- State: includes states, territories, districts, and insular and other possessions of the United States. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 337-1
shall, on demand of the executive authority of the state from which the person fled, be delivered up to be removed thereto.
