Every person, firm, corporation, partnership, association, or other legal entity upon entering into a contract with any person indicted or charged with a criminal offense committed in this State or a representative or assignee of any such person, shall submit a copy of the contract to the commission if:
Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 351-81
- Commission: means the crime victim compensation commission established by this chapter. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 351-2
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Crime: means those under § 351-32, and shall include an act of terrorism occurring outside the United States as defined in title 18 United States Code § 2331, against a resident of this State. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 351-2
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
