Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 412:3-114
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of financial institutions of this State. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 412:1-109
- Embezzlement: In most states, embezzlement is defined as theft/larceny of assets (money or property) by a person in a position of trust or responsibility over those assets. Embezzlement typically occurs in the employment and corporate settings. Source: OCC
- Financial institution: means a Hawaii financial institution, and unless the context indicates otherwise, a federal financial institution or foreign financial institution. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 412:1-109
- Fraud: Intentional deception resulting in injury to another.
A Hawaii financial institution shall immediately notify the commissioner in writing of any act of robbery, embezzlement, or fraud committed in connection with its affairs whenever the concerned act involves a sum in excess of $100,000.
