Any condition, stipulation, or provision in a franchise or distributorship agreement purporting to bind any person acquiring or holding any franchise or distributorship to waive compliance with any provision of this chapter or any other law of the State is void; provided that no person acquiring or holding any franchise or distributorship shall be prohibited under this section from electing in writing, at or after the time a dispute arises, to use any voluntary dispute resolution procedure, or from entering into any voluntary agreement to settle legitimate disputes between the disputing parties.
