(a) A trustee shall take reasonable steps to enforce claims of the trust and to defend claims against the trust.

Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 554D-811

Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
Trustee: includes an original, additional, and successor trustee, and a cotrustee. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 554D-103

(b) A trustee may abandon or assign to one or more of the beneficiaries of the trust any claim that it believes is not prudent to enforce.
