(a) Commencing with fiscal year 2018-2019, each of the counties and all other public employers shall make annual required contributions in accordance with section 87A-42 for the benefit of their retirees and beneficiaries.

Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 87A-43

  • Board: means the board of trustees of the Hawaii employer-union health benefits trust fund described in § 87A-5. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 87A-1
  • Contribution: means money payments made to the fund by the State, the counties, an employee-beneficiary, or a qualified-beneficiary. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 87A-1
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
(b) The board shall determine the annual required contribution owed by each public employer under this part for each fiscal year, beginning with fiscal year 2018-2019.
