- Advertising: includes the use of any banner, sign, placard, poster, streamer, card, or any publication in the media. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 486B-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Department: means the department of health. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 339D-1
- Gasoline: means a volatile mixture of liquid hydrocarbons, generally containing small amounts of additives, suitable for use as a fuel in spark-ignition internal combustion engines. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 486B-1
- Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- Person: means an individual, corporation, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, unincorporated association, two or more of any of the foregoing having a joint or common interest, or any other legal or commercial entity. - Person: means any individual, business, partnership, limited liability company, corporation, not-for-profit organization, association, government entity, public benefit corporation, or public authority. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 339D-1
- Petroleum product: means gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied petroleum gas only when used as a motor fuel, kerosene, thinner, solvent, liquefied natural gas, pressure appliance fuel, white gasoline, or any motor fuel, or any oil represented as engine lubricant, engine oil, lubricating or motor oil, or any oil used to lubricate transmissions, gears, or axles. - Recycling: means processing , including disassembling, dismantling, or shredding, electronic devices or their components to recover a useable product. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 339D-1
- Retailer: means any person who offers electronic devices for sale, other than for resale by the purchaser, through any means, including sales outlets, catalogs, or the Internet. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 339D-1
- sale: means any transfer for consideration of title, including transactions conducted through sales outlets, catalogs, or the Internet, but excluding leases. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 339D-1
- Temporary restraining order: Prohibits a person from an action that is likely to cause irreparable harm. This differs from an injunction in that it may be granted immediately, without notice to the opposing party, and without a hearing. It is intended to last only until a hearing can be held.
