(a) A person who discontinues use of an assumed business name may cancel its certificate of assumed business name by filing with the secretary of state a certificate of cancellation in a form prescribed by the secretary of state. The form may be in any medium permitted by the secretary of state.
(b) The certificate of cancellation shall be executed in the same manner as required for a certificate of assumed business name.
