Terms Used In Idaho Code 41-3233

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Society: shall mean fraternal benefit society, unless otherwise indicated. See Idaho Code 41-3204
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
Every society authorized to do business in this state shall be subject to the provisions of chapter 13, title 41, Idaho Code, relating to trade practices and frauds; provided however, that nothing therein shall be construed as applying to or affecting the right of any society to determine its eligibility requirements for membership, or be construed as applying to or affecting the offering of benefits exclusively to members or persons eligible for membership in the society by a subsidiary corporation or affiliated organization of the society.
