Terms Used In Idaho Code 54-1802
- Physician: means any person who holds a license to practice medicine and surgery, osteopathic medicine and surgery, or osteopathic medicine, provided that others authorized by law to practice any of the healing arts shall not be considered physicians for the purposes of this chapter. - Practice of medicine: means :
Idaho Code 54-1803State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
Recognizing that the practice of medicine is a privilege granted by the state of Idaho and is not a natural right of individuals, the purpose of this chapter is to assure the public health, safety and welfare in the state by the licensure and regulation of physicians and physician assistants, and the exclusion of unlicensed persons from the practice of medicine.
