Terms Used In Idaho Code 6-2001
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Disparagement: means the publication to a third party of a false factual statement; and
Idaho Code 6-2002Perishable agricultural food product: means an agricultural product as defined in section 22-2602, Idaho Code, intended for human consumption which is sold or distributed in a form that will perish or decay beyond marketability within a period of time. See Idaho Code 6-2002 State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. The legislature hereby finds, determines and declares that the production of agricultural food products constitutes a large proportion of the Idaho economy and that it is beneficial to the citizens of this state to protect the vitality of the agricultural economy by providing a legal cause of action for producers of perishable agricultural food products to recover damages for the disparagement of any perishable agricultural food product.
