(1) The powers of the authority shall be vested in a board of seven (7) directors to be appointed by the governor and confirmed by the senate.
(2) In making appointments, the governor shall endeavor to appoint individuals with direct professional experience and demonstrated knowledge in the electric utility industry. In addition to representatives of investor-owned, electric cooperative or municipal utilities, the governor may also appoint individuals with expertise in fields related to the functions of the authority such as engineering, banking, finance, economics and law.
Terms Used In Idaho Code 67-8905
- Authority: means the Idaho energy resources authority created pursuant to section 67-8904, Idaho Code. See Idaho Code 67-8903
- Board: means the board of directors of the authority. See Idaho Code 67-8903
- Electric cooperative: means a cooperative corporation or association that is:

(3) The directors shall serve five (5) year terms. Each director shall hold office for the term of his appointment and until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. Each director shall be eligible for reappointment but no director may serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
(4) The governor shall fill any vacancy for the remainder of any unexpired term.
(5) Any director may be removed by the governor for malfeasance or willful neglect of duty or other cause.
