- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Council: means the Idaho council on domestic violence and victim assistance created in section 39-5203, Idaho Code. See Idaho Code 39-5202
- Crisis line: means an emergency twenty-four (24) hour telephone service staffed by persons able to provide information and referral to community services. See Idaho Code 39-5202
- Domestic violence: means the physical injury, sexual abuse or forced imprisonment or threat thereof of a family or household member. See Idaho Code 39-5202
- Family or household member: means one who is related by blood, marriage, or who resides or has resided with or has been married to the person committing the domestic violence. See Idaho Code 39-5202
- person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person;
Idaho Code 73-114Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business. Refuge: means a place available on a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) days a week basis, to provide temporary residence to victims of domestic violence and their children. See Idaho Code 39-5202 Safe house: means a place available on an as needed basis for temporary residence to victims of domestic violence and their children. See Idaho Code 39-5202 State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories.
