Terms Used In Idaho Code > Title 54 > Chapter 55 - Midwifery

  • Board: means the Idaho state board of midwifery. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Client: means a woman under the care of a licensed midwife, as well as her fetus and newborn child. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • CPM: means a person who is certified by the North American registry of midwives or any successor organization. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Division: means the division of occupational and professional licenses. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Estimated due date: means the estimated date of delivery with a known date of conception, known date of last menstrual period or first trimester ultrasound. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Licensed health care provider: means a physician or physician assistant or an advanced practice registered nurse. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Licensed midwife: means a person who holds a current license issued by the board pursuant to the provisions of this chapter to engage in the practice of midwifery, who shall be designated "L. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • MEAC: means the organization established in 1991 and recognized by the U. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • NACPM: means the national organization for certified professional midwives. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • NARM: means the international certification agency that establishes and administers certification for the CPM credential. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • person: includes a corporation as well as a natural person;

  • Practice of midwifery: means providing maternity care for women and their newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods. See Idaho Code 54-5502
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories; and the words "United States" may include the District of Columbia and territories. See Idaho Code 73-114
