Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 105 ILCS 5/2-2
- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- oath: shall be deemed to include an affirmation, and the word "sworn" shall be construed to include the word "affirmed. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.12
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Before entering upon their duties the members of the State Board of Education shall take and subscribe the oath of office prescribed by the Constitution. Such oath shall be filed with the Secretary of State.
