Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 10 ILCS 5/18-5.1

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     The provisions of Section 17-13, insofar as they may be made applicable to voters with disabilities in elections under the jurisdiction of boards of election commissioners, shall be applicable herein.
