The Institute shall be advised by a committee which shall be composed of the State Fire Marshal, the Director of Personnel Standards and Education in the Office of the State Fire Marshal, 2 representatives of the University of Illinois appointed by the President of the University of Illinois, and those persons who serve as members of the Illinois Fire Advisory Commission pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 of “An Act relating to the State Fire Marshal”, approved July 21, 1977, provided, that the executive officer of the Fire Service Institute shall not be a member of the Institute advisory committee but may designate a member. The President of the University of Illinois shall designate one of the members of the Institute advisory committee to be committee chairman. The members of such committee shall receive no compensation, but may be reimbursed by the Institute for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties in accordance with travel regulations applicable to Institute personnel.
