Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 110 ILCS 805/3-42.5

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     The board of trustees of a community college district may develop affordable housing for community college students in coordination with the Housing Authority having jurisdiction of the area where the community college is located.
