Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 15 ILCS 305/5.10

  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
  • Uniform Commercial Code: A set of statutes enacted by the various states to provide consistency among the states' commercial laws. It includes negotiable instruments, sales, stock transfers, trust and warehouse receipts, and bills of lading. Source: OCC
     The fee for furnishing a monthly list of financing statements filed under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code is $250 per month. The list may be obtained by submitting a written request to the Secretary of State and payment of the fee in advance.
