Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 15 ILCS 320/13
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Fines and recovery. All fines and charges for any books or other items lost accruing under and by virtue of this Act, or for the violation of any of the rules adopted by the librarian, shall be recoverable in the name of the People of the State of Illinois in a civil action. In all such trials, the entries of the librarian, made as herebefore prescribed shall be evidence of the delivery of the book and of the date of such delivery; and it shall be his duty to carry the provisions of this Act into effect, and to sue for all injuries done to the library, and for all penalties under this Act.
