  • Joint resolution: A legislative measure which requires the approval of both chambers.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The General Assembly shall select the events to be commemorated by joint resolution adopted by the affirmative vote of at least three-fifths of the members elected to each house. The State Treasurer may recommend a limit of the number of series of medallions to be issued in a calendar year by giving notice of the recommended limitation to the General Assembly before December 1 of the preceding calendar year.
