The Adjutant General shall have charge of and carefully preserve the colors, flags, guidons and military trophies of war belonging to the State. He may, for the purpose of enabling wider public display, make loans of these items to the Federal government, other State governments, and to recognized museums. He shall furnish, at the expense of the State, blanks and forms, and such military publications as required.
     Prior to September 1 of each year, or at such other time as prescribed by the Governor, the Adjutant General shall file with the Office of the Governor a report listing each item loaned during the previous fiscal year and prior fiscal years, the terms and conditions of each loan, and the federal or State governmental office or recognized museum to which each item has been loaned.

Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 1805/25

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
