Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 2620/4

  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Director and the inspectors appointed by him are conservators of the peace and as such have all the powers possessed by policemen in cities and by sheriffs, except that they may exercise such powers anywhere in the State, in enforcing the duties conferred upon the Illinois State Police by Section 2 of this Act.
