- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
There is established the Illinois Advisory Council on Substance Use Disorders. The members of the Council shall receive no compensation for their service but shall be reimbursed for all expenses actually and necessarily incurred by them in the performance of their duties under this Act, and within the amounts made available to them by the Department. The Council shall annually elect a presiding officer from among its membership. The Council shall meet quarterly or at the call of the Department, or at the call of its presiding officer, or upon the request of a majority of its members. The Department shall provide space and clerical and consulting services to the Council.
