Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 3980/4

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The Board shall establish a fee policy governing any charges to be collected for work done in laboratories under its jurisdiction. All such laboratories are hereby authorized to charge reasonable fees in accordance with the policy established by the Board. Such policy shall provide for the waiving of such fees in specified circumstances when it is in the best interest of the State to do so.
