Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 20 ILCS 415/8b.9

  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     For temporary appointments to any positions in the State service which are determined to be temporary or seasonal in nature by the Director of Central Management Services. Temporary appointments may be made for not more than 6 months. No position in the State service may be filled by temporary appointment for more than 6 months out of any 12 month period.
