The Illinois Children’s Justice Task Force, in compliance with (i) the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) (42 U.S.C. § 5106c), as amended by Public Law 111-320; (ii) the Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (42 U.S.C. § 10603), as amended; and (iii) Section 116 of the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010, shall be charged with the exploration, research, and development of recommendations on a multidisciplinary team approach for the investigation of reports of abuse or neglect of children under the age of 18.
The Illinois Children’s Justice Task Force shall submit a report to the General Assembly by January 31, 2016 regarding, but not limited to, its recommendations for a statewide multidisciplinary approach to child abuse or neglect investigations. The Department of Children and Family Services shall continue to provide administrative support to the Task Force through the Department’s Children’s Justice Grant Manager.
