Under the Illinois Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

Class A misdemeanor | up to 1 year | up to $2,500 |
No person shall falsely alter or change in any manner the Off-Highway Vehicle Usage Stamp issued under the provisions of this Act, or falsify any record required by this Act, or counterfeit any form of license provided for by this Act. Any person found guilty of this Section shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
