Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 215 ILCS 5/355.1

  • individual: shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.36
  • insured: as used in this article , shall not be construed as preventing a person other than the insured with a proper insurable interest from making application for and owning a policy covering the insured or from being entitled under such a policy to any indemnities, benefits and rights provided therein. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 215 ILCS 5/357.28
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     No claim for benefits for loss of time from the insured person’s occupation, under a group or individual accident and health insurance policy delivered in this State more than 120 days after the effective date of this Section, shall be reduced by reason of any cost-of-living increase, designated as such under the Federal Social Security Act, if such cost-of-living increase occurs while the policy’s benefits are payable for that claim.
