A group or individual policy of accident and health insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2020 (the effective date of Public Act 101-281) shall provide coverage for medically necessary epinephrine injectors for persons 18 years of age or under. As used in this Section, “epinephrine injector” has the meaning given to that term in Section 5 of the Epinephrine Injector Act.
