Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 220 ILCS 5/5-203

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
     Every person who, either individually, or acting as an officer, agent, or employee of a public utility or of a corporation other than a public utility, violates or fails to comply with any provisions of this Act, or fails to observe, obey or comply with any order, decision, rule, regulation, direction or requirement, or any part or portion thereof, of the Commission, made or issued under authority of this Act, or who procures, aids or abets any public utility in its violation of this Act or in its failure to obey, observe or comply with this Act or any such order, decision, rule, regulation, direction, or requirement, or any part or portion thereof, in a case in which a penalty is not otherwise provided for in this Act, is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
