- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The provisions of this Act do not prohibit an acupuncturist from another state or country who is not licensed under the Act from practicing in Illinois during a state of emergency as declared by the Governor of Illinois, provided that the acupuncturist is currently licensed in another state or country and his or her license is active and has not been disciplined, or he or she is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine or similar body approved by the Department. Such practice is limited to the time period during which the declared state of emergency is in effect and may not exceed 2 consecutive weeks or a total of 30 days in one calendar year.
