Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 225 ILCS 84/105

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
     The Department, at its own expense, shall preserve a record of all proceedings at the formal hearing of any case. The notice of hearing, complaint, and all other documents in the nature of pleadings and written motions filed in the proceedings, the transcripts of testimony, the report of the Board, and orders of the Department shall be in the record of the proceeding.
