Any person who by means of any false statement or willful misrepresentation misleads, defrauds, or induces a local housing authority to fix the rent in an amount less than required under the regulations of the local housing authority, or by other fraudulent device or means obtains or attempts to obtain, or aids and abets any person in fraudulently obtaining or attempting to obtain, the fixing of the rent in an amount less than the sum required under the regulations of the local housing authority, is deemed guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
