A veterans advisory council may be established in each municipality in this State with a population of more than 50,000 inhabitants. Each council shall consist of at least 3 but not more than 10 members appointed by the mayor of the municipality. Membership shall be voluntary, and members of a council shall not receive any compensation for their services.
Each veterans advisory council shall advise the mayor of the municipality on issues pertaining to veterans.
