Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 40 ILCS 5/15-126

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
     “Fiscal year”: Until July 1, 1987, the period beginning on September 1 in any year, and ending on August 31 of the succeeding year, except that the 1987 fiscal year shall end on June 30. Beginning July 1, 1987, “fiscal year” means the period beginning on July 1 in any year, and ending on June 30 of the succeeding year.
